| Choosing a design identity that works is relatively simple if a business owner is aware of what works when developing a graphic design identity and what doesn’t work. An identity logo design must include certain elements if the business expects the corporate identity logo design to appeal to the target audience of the business. What elements should be included in a graphic design identity logo? How can a company or corporation ensure that the design identity works and remains recognizable to the public?

Matchless and Sensible
A design identity that works requires a certain sense of sensibility as well as a mild uniqueness in its design. The identity logo design must contain a design that is unique enough not to be confused with other logos and it must be sensible – in other words, it must have simple designs that are easily adaptable for a number of different formats.
Minimal Wordage
The most memorable logos are sweet and simple. A single line phrase is far more memorable than a graphic design identity with a motto that is too verbose or wordy. If the motto rhymes, that’s even better – a sing songy, catch phrase is something that will stick in the mind of a target audience. Also, when considering the motto to include in the brand identity design, words that share the same first constant may be used to create a particular audio and visual appeal. For example, if one were to write a motto for company that offers Internet access, a short, simple and rhythmic sounding motto might be seen as something like: “High Speed, Highly Affordable.” The latter mentioned option is far more memorable than a motto like: high speed, inexpensive, superlative quality Internet services. Corporate identity design and brand identity design require simple mottos: words with a likeable appearance and tone.
Image Quality
Like mottos, graphics used in identity logo designs should be simplistic. However, simplicity does not mean that one should compromise the quality of the graphic used. Graphics should not be complex in terms of the design – a simple, design is best, but the pixilation of graphics should be well defined. Graphics should have a crisp, clean and uncluttered appearance and the colors selected should be easy on the eyes.
